National Art School, Building 11

The National Art School occupies the grounds of the former Darlinghurst Jail, which is the oldest surviving large jail complex in Australia. Recent refurbishments of the National Art School Building 11 has breathed new life into this important historic building. The project has returned the building to it’s intended three stories, and now houses a metalwork/woodwork workshop, various project display areas, sculpture studios, many individual artist studios, a humidity controlled area for archiving and storing the NAS Collection, a media lab and lecture room. The building also houses numerous meeting, administration and amenity areas.
